Google is seeking a Data Center Mechanical Engineer to provide field mechanical engineering support for the Finland campus. You'll work with data center equipment and facility mechanical systems, requiring a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, and you have at least 3 years of experience managing construction projects in an international environment. Your background includes working with data center equipment and environments, such as switchgear, generators, controls, security monitoring systems, and fire safety systems. You have a solid understanding of facility mechanical systems and are familiar with startup and commissioning processes. You excel at building relationships and are action-oriented, with the ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed. You are a visionary who seeks efficiencies and improvements in your work, and you communicate recommendations effectively to senior-level executives.
In this role, you will provide mechanical engineering support and issue resolution for the Google Data Center Services Technical Project Manager at the Finland campus. You will collaborate with multiple teams and projects to develop cross-project and cross-functional procedures, ensuring alignment with the mechanical engineering work. You will support interactions with authorities, addressing inspection deficiencies and third-party inspection agreements. Your role will involve optimizing the physical design of data centers, contributing to cutting-edge strategies that enhance operational efficiency and sustainability. You will work closely with facilities technicians to implement solutions and drive improvements in the data center environment.
