Overview

Amazon is hiring a Senior Operations Manager to oversee budgetary, people development, and operational objectives at their Fulfillment Center. You'll lead a team of Operations and Area Managers to drive quality and performance initiatives. This role requires strong leadership and operational management skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have extensive experience in operations management, ideally within a fulfillment or logistics environment, where you've successfully led teams to achieve operational excellence. Your leadership style focuses on coaching and mentoring, ensuring that your team meets performance objectives while fostering positive employee relations. You understand the importance of safety, quality, and customer experience in operations, and you are committed to driving initiatives that enhance these areas. You are adept at managing budgets and resources effectively, ensuring that operational goals align with business plans. Your ability to collaborate with various support functions, such as HR and Finance, allows you to secure the necessary resources for your projects and initiatives.

Desirable

Experience with Lean methodologies and process improvement initiatives is a plus, as is familiarity with performance measurement and feedback systems. You thrive in environments where best practices are shared and implemented across teams, and you are proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement. Your strong communication skills enable you to articulate expectations clearly to your team and hold them accountable for their performance.

What you'll do

As a Senior Operations Manager at Amazon, you will be responsible for all aspects of operations at the Fulfillment Center. You will lead a team of Operations and Area Managers, driving the creation of quality initiatives and process changes that align with business objectives. Your role will involve setting clear requirements and expectations for your team, measuring performance, and providing constructive feedback to ensure accountability. You will take proactive steps to share best practices across departments and shifts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
