Lead Packaging Designer, Amazon Private Brands

Job Description
The ideal candidate has a strong design background with a passion for contemporary brands. They have experience building packaging design systems for consumer brands from scratch. Through their experience, they demonstrate the ability to deliver the highest quality packaging design and operate at scale. They have a high degree of ownership and integrity, and are a strong problem solver with the ability to think critically. They are an expert working with various design tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma. They are willing and capable of exploring and utilizing new design technologies to improve speed of execution and production.
Key job responsibilities
β’ Lead packaging design across the Flagship Amazon Brand, Amazon Basics, both internally and with our external creative agencies
β’ Lead the strategic packaging development of net-new product launches across our product portfolios
β’ Collaborate with and lead external creative agencies to scale adaptive packaging design across a wide portfolio of products
β’ Drive packaging design and imaging improvements based on data and insights
β’ Mentor and guide designers within print and digital design development processes- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years of packaging design experience
- Design Portfolio, including at least 3 multi-component projects that demonstrate dedication to high-quality creative work, strategic vision, concept development, and production excellence
- Effective cross-team collaborator who delivers with agility across multiple complex creative projects while meeting deadlines
- Experience partnering with technical packaging teams for packaging design implementation
- Strong proficiency in design, presentation, and system tools (specifically Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma)
- Detailed, hands-on experience with typography and image standards for web
- Fluency in print and digital production design
- Experience in developing design strategy and building brand experiences
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Knowledge of typographic and brand design principles
- Expertise in art direction, photo briefing, and on-figure and off-figure photography
- Understanding of marketing and business goals and goal development
- Lead the strategic packaging development of net-new product launches across our product portfolios
- Collaborate with and lead external creative agencies to scale adaptive packaging design across a wide portfolio of products
- Drive packaging design and imaging improvements based on data and insights

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
