Benchling is seeking a Product Designer for their Bioprocess product to enhance user experiences for scientists. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and utilize Figma for design. This role requires experience in product design and a passion for biotechnology.
You have a strong background in product design, ideally with 3+ years of experience in creating user-centered designs that enhance the usability of complex software products. You understand the importance of balancing user needs with business goals, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can work closely with product managers, engineers, and scientists. Your proficiency in design tools, particularly Figma, allows you to create high-fidelity prototypes that effectively communicate your design vision. You are comfortable working in an agile environment and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality user experiences.
Experience in the biotechnology or life sciences sector is a plus, as it gives you a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by scientists. Familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing will help you validate your designs and ensure they meet user needs effectively.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end user experience for Benchling’s Bioprocess product, which involves designing features that enable scientists to scale recipe design, experiment planning, batch execution, and analysis. You will collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define product strategy and prioritize features that align with user needs and business objectives. Your responsibilities will include conducting user research to gather insights, creating wireframes and prototypes, and iterating on designs based on feedback from users and stakeholders. You will also participate in design reviews and contribute to the overall design system to ensure consistency across products.
Benchling offers a dynamic work environment where you can make a significant impact on the biotechnology industry. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team dedicated to improving scientific workflows and driving innovation. We provide competitive compensation and benefits, including health insurance, flexible work hours, and opportunities for professional development.
