Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the leading cloud provider, providing virtual infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, and many other services to customers all over the world. AWS runs a globally distributed environment, operating at massive levels of scale. Businesses, from start-ups to enterprises, run their operations and applications on AWS’s multi-tenant infrastructure. Governmental organizations are also looking to and depending on AWS for cloud solutions and services.

Are you excited about partnering with the Intelligence Community (IC) and National Security industry to drive high-visibility and strategic programs and lead operational processes that enable business growth? Are you equally comfortable working with engineering and development teams to meet business requirements? If so, the AWS Federal Delivery Organization (FDO) Program Management Office is looking for a Task Order Program Manager with a proven record of delivering results for strategic and operational cross-functional projects.

The AWS World Wide Public Sector team is looking for an exceptional Program Manager to support our National Security business within our Federal Delivery Organization (FDO). The FDO is responsible for program management activities across a portfolio of Federal programs, and their activities include managing multiple concurrent region expansion projects, task orders, maintaining the program’s schedule, risk mitigation strategies, quality assurance, and IV&V functions. The FDO ensures contractual delivery and enables the growth of the business by managing the growing portfolio of prime contracts for AWS to provide cloud services to government customers.

This position is based in Herndon, VA. You will join a cadre of program management and technical business development professionals in pursuing new and overseeing existing US Government contract requirements, milestones, and deliverables. As a Task Order Program Manager, you will spend the majority of your time partnering with account and sales teams, technical business leaders, and government representatives. You will spend time shaping, responding to, and executing Task Orders. You will manage a portfolio of Task Orders for a targeted set of customer Agencies, and act as the agency-level program manager for those customers.

The role requires subject matter expertise in the areas of project and program management and technical business development experience to incorporate technical requirements into commercial transactions and effectively structure, facilitate, and close deals, and manage tactical program activities in accordance with existing contract performance criteria. You will draw upon extensive information technology centric project management, critical thinking, and analytic problem-solving skills coupled with business development and executive communication skills with government customers.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
