You are a PhD student with a strong foundation in machine learning and compiler optimization techniques. You have experience with Python and are familiar with TensorFlow, which will help you contribute effectively to the ML Runtime and Deployment Team. As a Summer Intern at Waymo, you will develop innovative compiler optimization techniques that enhance the efficiency of machine learning models used in autonomous driving. You will work closely with experienced engineers and researchers, gaining hands-on experience in optimizing the performance of onboard software through system-wide performance tunings and model-level optimizations. You will also have the opportunity to engage in hardware-software co-play on specialized accelerators, contributing to the fast deployment and execution of neural networks. Your work will directly support the Waymo Driver, which powers the company's fully autonomous ride-hail service. You will participate in team meetings, collaborate on projects, and contribute to the overall mission of improving access to mobility and saving lives through advanced technology.
