You have experience working with regulatory or compliance reporting — you understand the intricacies of financial regulations and how to ensure compliance through data analysis. Your background includes a solid understanding of accounting and double-entry ledger principles — you can navigate financial data with ease and accuracy. You are familiar with distributed data frameworks like Hadoop and Spark — you have written and debugged data pipelines that handle complex data sets. You have a good understanding of development processes and best practices — you appreciate the importance of engineering standards, code reviews, and testing in delivering high-quality data solutions. You are a collaborative team player — you enjoy working closely with engineering, accounting, and product teams to achieve common goals. You are detail-oriented and analytical — you thrive on transforming data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.
In this role, you will collaborate across the company, including engineering, accounting, financial partnerships, and product teams, to analyze and respond to regulatory reporting, tax, and accounting requirements. You will combine data from multiple upstream data sources to build accurate and reliable reporting capabilities. You will be responsible for ensuring that Stripe meets its external financial regulatory obligations while also enhancing internal financial data compliance processes. You will work closely with regulatory experts to navigate the complex and ever-changing regulatory environment. Your contributions will help maintain the trust and confidence of regulators by delivering timely and trustworthy data. You will also engage in process improvement initiatives — identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes that streamline operations. You will be part of a team that operates Stripe’s ledger, which is the authoritative source of record for all money movement at Stripe. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of Stripe's financial operations.
