Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building production systems that scale effectively. You’ve owned services from design through deployment and have a wealth of experience in debugging complex distributed systems issues. Your expertise in JVM programming languages is complemented by a strong understanding of event-driven architecture, allowing you to create responsive and efficient systems. You are comfortable working cross-functionally with various teams, ensuring that the solutions you develop meet the diverse needs of the organization. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to contribute to a team that values innovation and flexibility.

Desirable

Experience with AWS is a significant plus, as you will be leveraging cloud services to enhance the functionality and reliability of the platform. Familiarity with financial technology or services is also beneficial, as it will help you understand the unique challenges and opportunities within the industry. You are proactive in seeking out learning opportunities and are open to mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow.

What you'll do

In this role, you will drive the design and development of key platform services that empower our community members to access their earnings in real-time. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ensure that the services you build are user-friendly and meet the needs of our customers. Your responsibilities will include designing APIs, optimizing database interactions, and implementing best practices for code quality and performance. You will also participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to your peers and ensuring that the team adheres to high standards of software development.

You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering to deployment and monitoring. This includes writing technical documentation, conducting testing, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Your contributions will directly impact the financial flexibility of our users, making your work both meaningful and rewarding. You will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, balancing time between our Mexico City office and remote work, allowing for flexibility in your work-life balance.
