The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) team provides real estate transaction expertise, business partnering, space & occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management and facility maintenance and operations for Amazon’s corporate office portfolio across multiple countries. We partner with suppliers to ensure quality, innovation and operational excellence with Amazon’s business and utilize customer driven feedback to continuously improve and exceed employee expectations.
In this role, you’ll support the Global Workplace Guidelines team by developing and maintaining Guidelines, Standards, and Playbooks that support the development of Amazon’s global corporate office portfolio. On a typical day you’ll develop new documents based on templates, make updates to existing documents, collaborate with internal stakeholders, review and incorporate feedback on document drafts, or prepare an analysis of a programmatic issue for review. Affiliation to CFIA isn’t necessary.
You will be part of a creative and efficient team comprised of Architects and Designers tasked with solving problems and challenging the status quo. You will have direct impact on the design and architectural programming of workplaces, provide technical guidance, solve design issues, and be responsible for architectural design requirements.
Key job responsibilities
• Work with ambiguous direction to document designs of corporate workspace standards
• Maintain prototype designs and template specifications for architectural elements
• Produce and refine architectural drawings, including floor plans, sections, elevations, and construction documents using Revit
• Create models and renderings to communicate design intent
• Collaborate with others to generate high-quality, well-coordinated documents, sometimes in short time frames
• Develop presentation decks that demonstrate logical and creative storytelling narratives
• Contribute to improving the efficiency of workflows and automation
• Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners
• Manage multiple projects and tasks
About the team
The Workplace Guidelines team owns the creation, implementation, and ongoing refinement of Amazon’s Global Workplace Guidelines and Standards, ensuring regional teams have comprehensive documentation to support delivering, refreshing, and operating spaces that best support how Amazonians work in the office. This team includes subject matter experts for global furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E) development and implementation, as well as signage and wayfinding guidelines and standards.

• 2+ years professional experience in architectural or interior design professional practice
• Proficiency in developing construction documents
• Proficiency with software/platforms such as Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), ACC Connect, Revu/Bluebeam, BIM360, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Dynamo, Workato and Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of BIM standards like ISO 19650 and NBIMS
• Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC or equivalent
• Experience building Revit templates, families, and automations
• Experience with tenant improvement projects, especially commercial offices
• Experience with developing or maintaining design guidelines and standards
• Experience directing the work of other designers and drafters
• Parametric and Generative design experience and expertise
• Expertise with Dashboarding tools such as PowerBI, Quicksight
