Overview

Waymo is seeking a Standards Compliance Lead to develop and implement compliance policies for autonomous driving technology. This remote role requires expertise in safety regulations and collaboration with regulatory authorities. Salary range is $230,000—$292,000 USD.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in compliance management, particularly within the technology or automotive sectors, and possess a deep understanding of safety regulations and standards applicable to autonomous vehicles. Your experience includes developing and enforcing compliance policies and procedures, ensuring that safety is prioritized throughout the design and development processes. You are skilled in collaborating with regulatory authorities, lawmakers, and various organizations to promote safety strategies and policies. You have a proven track record of leading compliance programs and are adept at navigating complex regulatory environments. You are detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively convey compliance requirements to diverse stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience in the autonomous vehicle industry or related fields is a plus, as is familiarity with environmental, health, and safety regulations. You are proactive in identifying compliance risks and developing strategies to mitigate them. A background in safety engineering analyses is also beneficial, as it allows you to contribute to the continuous improvement of safety measures within the organization.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive compliance policies and procedures for Waymo's autonomous driving technology. You will work closely with the Safety team to ensure that safety goals and strategies are integrated into all aspects of vehicle design and development. Your responsibilities will include conducting safety engineering analyses and advising on compliance with applicable regulations. You will also engage with regulatory authorities and lawmakers to advocate for safety standards in the autonomous vehicle industry. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring compliance performance and making recommendations for improvements as needed. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.
