Google is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer II to build and maintain large-scale, fault-tolerant systems. You'll work with Java, Python, and Linux to ensure the reliability of Google Cloud services. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, and you have at least 1 year of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. Your experience includes working with data structures and algorithms, which you have applied during coursework, projects, or internships. You are familiar with the principles of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and understand how to build and run large-scale, distributed systems. You thrive in environments that promote intellectual curiosity and problem-solving, and you are eager to collaborate with a diverse team.
A Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred, as well as experience with coding, algorithms, complexity analysis, and large-scale system design. You are comfortable with automation and optimizing existing systems, and you have a keen interest in ensuring system reliability and performance.
As a Site Reliability Engineer II at Google, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and uptime of Google Cloud's services. You will manage complex challenges unique to large-scale systems, utilizing your coding expertise to optimize existing infrastructure. Your role will involve triaging product or system issues, debugging, and resolving them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations. You will participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate available technologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems.
