Who you are

You are currently enrolled in a degree program in accounting, finance, business, data analytics, or a related field, or you have equivalent practical experience. You are eager to commit to a full-time, 40-hour/week co-op from June 2026, and you are excited about gaining hands-on experience in internal audit processes. You possess strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail, which will help you support initiatives that strengthen the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.

You have a foundational understanding of internal controls and compliance frameworks, particularly Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX). You are a proactive communicator who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams, including accounting, tax, and financial reporting. Your ability to document processes and evaluate controls will be essential in identifying opportunities for improvement within HubSpot’s operational audits.

You are motivated to contribute to building a strong compliance foundation that supports HubSpot’s long-term growth. You are adaptable and open to learning, ready to take on various audit-related projects as needed. You understand the importance of maintaining clarity and accessibility of information, which will be reflected in your efforts to refine team resources such as the Internal Audit Wiki.

Desirable

While not required, any prior experience or coursework related to internal auditing or compliance will be beneficial. Familiarity with financial reporting processes and an understanding of audit best practices will set you apart as a candidate. What you'll do

In your role as an Internal Audit Co-op, you will support the Internal Audit team in improving financial close processes and enhancing HubSpot’s policies and procedures. You will contribute to updates and ongoing improvements of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) reporting framework, ensuring that the company adheres to compliance standards. Your work will involve partnering cross-functionally with teams in accounting, tax, accounts payable, financial reporting, and FP&A, acting as an independent and supportive business partner.

You will assist with SOX testing to help ensure accuracy and reliability in financial reporting. This will involve documenting processes, evaluating controls, and identifying opportunities for improvement during operational audits. You will also help implement updates within HubSpot’s systems and support other audit-related projects as needed, gaining valuable insights into the internal audit process.

Your contributions will directly impact HubSpot’s compliance foundation, and you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced auditors and finance professionals. You will be encouraged to ask questions and seek guidance as you navigate your responsibilities, ensuring that you gain the most from this co-op experience.
