Meta is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead their Data Protection Compliance Program within the EU Data Legal team. You'll manage a team of lawyers and compliance professionals, ensuring alignment with global regulatory obligations. This role requires proven expertise in data protection and strong people management skills.
You are a senior-level legal leader with extensive experience in data protection compliance, particularly within the EU, UK, and US regulatory frameworks. You have a proven track record of managing teams of legal professionals and compliance experts, demonstrating your ability to lead and develop talent in a complex legal environment. Your collaborative and positive attitude enables you to build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams, ensuring effective management of multi-jurisdictional legal and compliance risks. You are self-motivated and possess deep expertise in data protection, particularly in areas such as HR/employee data, data governance, and incident response.
In this role, you will lead the Data Protection Compliance Program, overseeing a team responsible for advising on compliance matters related to data protection and privacy. You will manage a diverse portfolio that includes contractual arrangements for data under commercial services agreements, data sharing, and international data transfers. Your responsibilities will involve developing and implementing strategies to ensure that Meta’s products and services align with global regulatory obligations. You will also be tasked with establishing key partnerships with various teams across the organization to effectively address compliance challenges and risks. As a leader, you will focus on team development, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence within your team.
