You have extensive experience in engineering leadership, ideally with a focus on developer platforms or gaming ecosystems. Your background includes building and managing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of ownership and impact. You possess a strong technical foundation that allows you to engage deeply with engineering challenges and drive strategic initiatives. You are mission-driven and passionate about enhancing the gaming experience for millions of users. You understand the importance of collaboration across teams and can effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in the gaming industry or with developer tools is a plus. Familiarity with commerce strategies and platform development will set you apart. You are comfortable navigating complex technical landscapes and have a track record of successful project delivery.
In this role, you will build and lead multiple teams focused on the development of Discord's commerce platform and player experience. You will define and drive the commerce platform strategy from the ground up, ensuring that game developers can seamlessly integrate Discord into their games. Your leadership will involve hiring and coaching team members, instilling a sense of ownership and accountability within your teams. You will work closely with the VP of Engineering to align your teams' goals with the broader objectives of Discord.
