Opendoor is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to enhance digital experiences for home buyers and sellers. You'll work with technologies like React, TypeScript, and Python to develop scalable solutions. This role requires a strong focus on product and user experience.
You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on full stack development — your experience spans both front-end and back-end technologies, allowing you to create seamless user experiences. You are product-focused and understand the importance of user pain points, having collaborated closely with product managers and designers to deliver elegant solutions that delight customers.
With expertise in React and TypeScript, you are adept at designing and developing robust front-end experiences — you appreciate the nuances of creating reusable UI components and scalable application architecture. On the back end, you are comfortable diving into systems built with Python, Go, or Ruby, ensuring that functionality is seamless from end to end.
You take pride in writing clean, maintainable, and modular code — your craftsmanship is evident in your contributions to code reviews and mentorship of junior engineers. You are committed to championing technical excellence and continuously raising the bar on software quality and team processes.
Collaboration is key for you — you engage with engineers, designers, and operations teams to deliver comprehensive solutions, sharing feedback and ensuring alignment across disciplines. You thrive in environments where you can drive quality and best practices, identifying opportunities to remove friction with technology.
Experience with cloud technologies and microservices architecture would be a plus, as would familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Trello.
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Opendoor, you will play a pivotal role in transforming our technical architecture and user experience — your work will directly impact how we serve our customers in one of the biggest transactions of their lives. You will own full stack features, designing and developing both front-end and back-end components to create meaningful experiences for users.
You will collaborate closely with product managers and designers to understand user pain points and build scalable solutions that meet their needs — your ability to translate complex requirements into elegant code will be crucial. You will lead initiatives to improve our application architecture, ensuring that it supports multiple user experiences effectively.
In addition to coding, you will participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of craftsmanship and continuous improvement within the team. You will also engage with operations teams to identify opportunities for technology to remove friction in our processes, ensuring that our systems are efficient and user-friendly.
At Opendoor, we are building the modern system of homeownership, giving people the freedom to buy and sell on their own terms. You will be part of a mission-driven team that is transforming the way people experience home transactions. We offer a collaborative work environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on our success.
