Backend Engineer - RiskOS

Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have war stories from debugging complex distributed systems issues. You possess deep expertise in Java and Spring — you've shipped high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests and have strong opinions on service architecture, dependency injection, and testing strategies. You are comfortable working with Docker and Kubernetes, understanding how to deploy and manage containerized applications effectively. You have experience with REST APIs — designing and implementing them to ensure seamless integration with other services. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys mentoring junior engineers and elevating the overall technology stack. You thrive in environments where you can take ownership of your work and contribute to high-quality, scalable, and secure software products.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be a plus, as would familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools. You are also encouraged to apply if you have experience in developing enterprise-class documentation for both internal and external collaboration.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of advanced software solutions that support Socure's mission of building identity trust infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. Your key responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, and debugging components for distributed systems operating at large scale and high speed. You will own nonfunctional requirements such as scalability, availability, and security, ensuring that the systems you build are robust and reliable. You will contribute to the creation of unit and integration tests, ensuring high code and functional coverage. Additionally, you will break down complex tasks into manageable parts, plan, and execute effectively, working closely with team members to elevate technology and consistently improve processes.
