SpaceX is seeking a Senior Signal and Power Integrity Engineer for their Starlink project in Redmond, WA. You'll be responsible for signal and power integrity throughout the hardware lifecycle, working closely with various engineering disciplines. This role requires expertise in electrical engineering and PCB layout.
You have 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in signal and power integrity. Your background includes ownership of hardware design throughout its lifecycle, and you are comfortable working at the intersection of electrical, mechanical, thermal analysis, software, and antenna/RF engineering. You possess strong analytical skills and are adept at evaluating silicon architecture and package performance. Your expertise extends to channel and power distribution network (PDN) architecture, as well as PCB layout design, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
You are familiar with the latest tools and methodologies in signal integrity and power integrity analysis, and you have a proven track record of delivering high-quality engineering solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges. You are detail-oriented and have a strong commitment to quality and performance in your work.
Experience with satellite systems or broadband technologies would be a plus. Familiarity with simulation tools for signal integrity and power integrity analysis is also desirable. As a Senior Signal and Power Integrity Engineer at SpaceX, you will take ownership of signal and power integrity for the Starlink satellite hardware. Your responsibilities will include evaluating silicon architecture during the early design phases, selecting and characterizing stackup materials, and designing channel and PDN architectures. You will work closely with mechanical and thermal engineers to ensure that the hardware meets performance specifications under various conditions.
You will also be involved in PCB layout design, ensuring that the layout adheres to best practices for signal integrity and power integrity. Your role will require you to collaborate with software engineers to integrate hardware and software components effectively. You will participate in testing and validation processes, analyzing results to make informed decisions about design improvements.
