Overview

Waymo is seeking a Vehicle Electrical Distribution Engineer to develop custom vehicle harnesses for future vehicles. You'll work with CatiaV5 and Mentor Graphics to create 3D routing and 2D layout drawings. This role requires experience in electrical engineering and harness design.

Who you are

You have a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in developing vehicle harnesses and layouts. Your experience includes using CatiaV5 and Mentor Graphics for creating detailed designs and drawings. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for selecting appropriate harness components, ensuring that every aspect of the design meets the highest standards.

You thrive in collaborative environments, participating in peer reviews and contributing to the continuous improvement of design practices. Your curiosity drives you to stay updated with the latest technologies and methodologies in vehicle engineering, and you are eager to apply this knowledge to innovative projects.

Desirable

Experience with autonomous vehicle technology or related fields is a plus. Familiarity with industry best practices and guidelines will help you excel in this role. You are also open to learning new tools and techniques that can enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing custom vehicle harnesses for future Waymo vehicles, ensuring that they meet the evolving architecture of our autonomous driving technology. You will create 3D routing designs using CatiaV5 and participate in the development of 2D layout and harness drawings with the Mentor Graphics Capital suite.

You will engage in peer reviews of 2D and 3D designs, adhering to Waymo's guidelines and best practices. Your role will involve selecting appropriate harness components, including terminals, connectors, wire types, and sizes, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key, as you will work closely with mechanical, reliability, software, and vehicle engineers to integrate electrical systems into vehicle platforms. Your contributions will directly impact the safety and efficiency of Waymo's autonomous driving technology.

Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $196,000—$248,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
