Celonis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Engineering Productivity team to optimize development velocity and technical excellence. You'll work with Java to enhance tooling and frameworks across the cloud-based ecosystem. This role requires strong expertise in software engineering and a focus on performance and reliability.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on optimizing development processes and enhancing productivity. Your expertise in Java is complemented by a deep understanding of software development life cycles, allowing you to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including developers, SREs, and product managers to advocate for best practices in software development.
You possess a solid foundation in building and maintaining libraries that ensure high standards for performance, reliability, and security. Your experience includes designing and implementing innovative tools and frameworks that streamline development, testing, and debugging processes. You are passionate about fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within engineering teams.
You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges and finding ways to enhance the overall development experience. Your ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders enables you to advocate for the needs of the engineering organization while driving initiatives that improve productivity.
Experience with cloud-based ecosystems and familiarity with CI/CD practices would be advantageous. Knowledge of additional programming languages or frameworks is a plus, as is a background in automation and tooling development.
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Engineering Productivity team, you will take ownership of the central shared Java libraries, ensuring they meet high standards for performance and reliability. You will actively identify inefficiencies across the software development life cycle and design innovative tools and frameworks to address these challenges. Your role will involve collaborating with various engineering roles to advocate for best practices and implement solutions that enhance development velocity.
You will work closely with developers to streamline testing and debugging processes, ensuring that the tools and frameworks you develop are user-friendly and effective. Your contributions will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of reliability and performance within the engineering organization. You will also be responsible for maintaining and evolving the libraries that support the entire engineering team, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest standards and practices.
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will engage in mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles. You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team, ensuring that best practices are followed and that the team continuously improves its processes.
