You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in developing and deploying complex systems. Your background includes working on autonomous technologies or similar fields, where you've tackled real-world challenges and contributed to innovative solutions. You possess a strong understanding of software architecture and design principles, enabling you to create scalable and maintainable code. Your experience with Java is deep, and you are comfortable using it to build reliable applications that meet high standards of performance and safety. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of the software lifecycle are addressed. In this role, you will leverage offboard resources to assist self-driving vehicles in complex situations, ensuring that the Waymo Driver operates safely and efficiently. Your contributions will directly impact the acceleration of Waymo's autonomous technology deployment, as you work at the cutting edge of the industry. You will be responsible for developing robust systems that integrate on-vehicle and off-vehicle resources, enhancing the capabilities of the Waymo Driver. Collaboration with Fleet Response Operators will be key, as you will need to provide context and information to assist in decision-making during ambiguous scenarios. You will also engage in continuous improvement processes, iterating on solutions based on feedback and performance metrics.
Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $204,000—$259,000 USD, along with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus program and an equity incentive plan.
