What you'll do

In this role, you will leverage offboard resources to assist self-driving vehicles in complex situations, ensuring that the Waymo Driver operates safely and efficiently. You will prototype and deploy solutions that address real-world challenges in autonomous driving, working closely with onboard engineering teams to anticipate and plan for potential issues. Your contributions will directly impact the acceleration of Waymo's autonomous technology deployment, as you work at the cutting edge of the industry. You will be responsible for developing robust systems that integrate on-vehicle and off-vehicle resources, enhancing the capabilities of the Waymo Driver. Collaboration with Fleet Response Operators will be key, as you will need to provide context and information to assist in decision-making during ambiguous scenarios. You will also engage in continuous improvement processes, iterating on solutions based on feedback and performance metrics.
