You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. With 8 years of experience in electronics packaging, server systems, or the data center industry, you have a deep understanding of cooling strategies used for packages, boards, systems, and data centers. You are experienced in developing and executing thermal technology innovations and have worked with advanced cooling techniques such as liquid cooling, thermal interface materials, thermo-electric devices, two-phase heat transfer, or heat exchangers. You have a proven track record of collaborating with OEM, ODM, and cooling system suppliers, showcasing your ability to lead projects effectively.
You possess a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, and have 12 years of experience in electronics packaging, server systems, or data centers. With at least 5 years of experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), thermal analysis modeling, and characterization using tools like FloTHERM and IcePak, you are well-equipped to tackle complex thermal challenges. You have experience in establishing project goals, coordinating resources, and providing technical leadership, which makes you a valuable asset to any team.
As a Staff Thermal Systems Engineer at Google, you will lead teams to design and evaluate holistic thermal designs and architectures from package to data center level, optimizing for cost and efficiency while innovating for performance. You will develop appropriate specifications and test procedures to ensure the desired reliability and performance of electronic equipment. Your role will involve collaborating, supervising, mentoring, and motivating both internal and external teams to design and develop excellent products. You will capture critical metrics such as temperature, pressure, velocity, power, flow rates, acceleration, displacement, and acoustics to inform your designs and decisions.
You will be responsible for driving innovation in thermal systems, ensuring that Google's hardware meets the unique computational challenges we face. Your expertise will guide the development of new cooling strategies and technologies that enhance the performance and efficiency of our data centers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that thermal considerations are integrated into the overall design and development process, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
At Google, you will be part of a team that designs and builds the hardware, software, and networking technologies that power all of our services. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will work in a dynamic environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on the future of technology and data center operations. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
