Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure in Canton, Mississippi. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.

Who you are

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in hands-on environments and enjoy troubleshooting complex equipment. Your experience includes working with diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and cooling systems, ensuring that mission-critical facilities operate seamlessly. You understand the importance of maintaining high uptime and are committed to delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.

You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving — you can identify potential issues before they escalate and take the necessary steps to resolve them. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers and specialists, contributing to the overall success of the data center operations.

Desirable

Experience with AWS infrastructure services is a plus, as it will enhance your ability to support the cloud operations that power global digital experiences. Familiarity with data center operations and maintenance practices will also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical and mechanical systems that support our data centers. Your role will involve hands-on work with critical equipment such as stand-by diesel generators, UPS systems, and cooling towers. You will ensure that all systems are functioning optimally, contributing to our goal of achieving 99.999% uptime.

You will collaborate closely with a team of engineers to monitor system performance and respond to any operational issues that arise. Your expertise will be vital in conducting routine maintenance and implementing improvements to enhance system reliability. You will also participate in training and development opportunities to further your skills and knowledge in data center operations.
