Job Description

NATS—informally known as "Outbound"—is responsible for managing the connectivity and flow across Amazon’s transportation network.

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE I) who is passionate about using data to drive business decisions. In this role, you will partner with stakeholders across various teams, translate business needs into data solutions, and develop tools that enable better visibility, automation, and decision-making. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong analytical foundation who is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities
* Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver end-to-end business intelligence solutions.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to design, develop, and maintain dashboards and visualizations that track key business performance metrics.
* Build and maintain data pipelines and models using AWS technologies.
* Define, develop, and maintain automated reporting to support critical business and operational decisions.
* Perform deep-dive analyses on operational performance and business problems, identifying actionable insights and supporting implementation.
* Proactively identify opportunities to improve the performance, accuracy, and usability of dashboards and reports.
* Analyze historical data to identify trends and provide insights through clear written and verbal communication.
* Support the business with ad hoc analyses and visualizations as needed.

A day in the life
As a Business Intelligence Engineer I, you’ll support product, science, and engineering teams by building reports, dashboards, and data pipelines that help monitor and improve the performance of Amazon’s outbound transportation network. Your day may include gathering requirements from stakeholders, developing SQL queries, validating data accuracy, and visualizing trends that inform operational decisions. You'll contribute to team goals by digging into data to answer key business questions, identifying anomalies, and sharing insights that support planning and forecasting efforts. With guidance from senior team members, you’ll continue to grow your technical skills and business acumen in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience building and maintaining basic data artifacts (e.g., ETL, data models, queries)
- Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tool(s) to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports
- Experience with building and maintain basic data artifacts (e.g. ETL, data models, queries)- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++
- Knowledge of how to improve code quality and optimizes BI processes (e.g. speed, cost, reliability)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
