Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Principal, Executive Development to design and lead Amazon's premier executive development experience. This role will orchestrate all aspects of this initiative including participant selection, executive assessment, and leadership summits with senior executives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional strategic thinking, program management expertise, and the ability to influence senior leaders while creating transformative learning experiences that strengthen enterprise-level capabilities.

Success in this role requires deep understanding of Amazon's leadership principles, proven experience designing executive development programs, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships across the organization. This position will directly impact Amazon's leadership pipeline, requiring someone who can balance rigorous evaluation with meaningful development while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and excellence.

Key job responsibilities
• Design and implement a comprehensive executive development experience that accelerates leadership readiness for our top executives across the organization
• Partner with senior leadership to identify, assess, and select program participants using data-driven talent evaluation methodologies and succession planning insights
• Develop challenging, business-relevant learning experiences that strengthen enterprise-level thinking and cross-functional collaboration among senior leaders
• Create and facilitate immersive leadership summits that provide meaningful exposure to senior executives while showcasing participants' strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• Establish personalized development planning processes that accelerate leadership growth and readiness for expanded responsibilities
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure program alignment with business priorities and leadership development needs
• Measure and report on program effectiveness, including impact on succession planning, leadership pipeline strength, and participant development outcomes
• Drive continuous improvement of the program based on participant feedback, business outcomes, and evolving organizational needs
- 10+ years of HR or business function experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience leading relevant talent programs, including cross-functional, global projects- Master's degree or above in Human Resources, Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, Business/Management, Psychology, or a related field
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
