We are currently looking for a highly analytical and forward-thinking Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing Marketplace team in our Milan office.
The role will be part of the EU Marketplace Expansion Finance team. Amazon’s seller marketplace is home to more than two million small businesses, individual sellers and household names who reach tens of millions of potential customers. Today, more than 50% of worldwide purchases from Amazon’s sites are made from third party sellers. EU 3P Expansion is at the forefront of building and scaling our marketplace business across our youngest stores in EU, and countries where we do not have a store.
You will act as the finance business partner for some marketplaces and central teams. You will support senior leadership in decision making through data analysis and business insight, owning the analysis of topline and profitability performance.
Key job responsibilities
- Provide timely and insightful analysis on financial performance, acting as the CFO for the senior managers leading your partner business teams
- Generate strategic insights from financial data, identify growth and cost saving opportunities, and communicate findings with the leadership team to drive business actions
- Support business review processes including weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reviews, planning, forecasting and ad hoc analysis
- Build financial models to drive business decisions and make judgment calls on new business initiatives, using your understanding of Amazon 3P cost/profit structure
- Develop tools to drive better performance understanding
- Build strong relationships within a highly matrix organization, collaborating with multiple finance and business teams (Retail, Accounting, Operations)
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- Experience in finance and analytical roles
- Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
- Experience working in a matrix environment; knows how to collaborate with and influence partner teams to achieve goals by working across the organization
- Strong analytic and communication skills
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
