JavaSecurity engineer

Overview

Twilio is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for their Identity & Security Products team to design and build innovative authentication and identity solutions. You'll work with Java and security technologies to protect millions of users globally.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in building secure and scalable systems. Your expertise in Java allows you to develop robust applications that meet high security standards. You understand the importance of user identity and security in today's digital landscape, and you are passionate about creating solutions that protect users.

You thrive in a remote-first environment and are comfortable collaborating with diverse teams across different time zones. Your strong communication skills enable you to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned on project goals.

You are familiar with the end-to-end development cycle, from concept to delivery, and you take pride in delivering high-quality software. You are proactive in identifying potential security vulnerabilities and are committed to implementing best practices in software development.

Desirable

Experience with identity management solutions or authentication frameworks is a plus. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure can enhance your contributions to the team. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can improve the security and efficiency of your work.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Twilio, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Identity & Security Products. You will design and implement innovative solutions that enhance user authentication and verification processes. Your work will directly impact the security of millions of users worldwide, making it essential to ensure that our systems are both robust and user-friendly.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define the technical requirements and architecture of our identity solutions. Your responsibilities will include writing clean, maintainable code, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers to foster a culture of learning and growth within the team.

You will also be involved in testing and debugging our applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of security and performance. By staying up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies, you will help Twilio maintain its position as a leader in the communications industry.

What we offer

Twilio offers a flexible remote work environment that allows you to balance your professional and personal life. You will be part of a vibrant team that values diversity and inclusion, where your contributions are recognized and celebrated. We provide competitive compensation and benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional development.

Join us at Twilio, where you can make a meaningful impact on how the world communicates. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your unique perspective could be exactly what we need to drive innovation in our Identity & Security Products.
