Roku is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for their Data Platform team to build and support one of the largest data lakes in the world. You'll work with technologies like Kafka, Spark, and AWS to manage and process vast amounts of data. This role requires strong experience in data engineering and DevOps practices.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on DevOps and data platforms — you've successfully built and maintained large-scale data systems and understand the intricacies of data processing and storage. Your expertise includes working with tools like Kafka and Spark, and you are comfortable navigating complex data environments. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions. You are passionate about open-source technologies and have a desire to contribute to community-driven projects. You have a strong understanding of cloud services, particularly AWS, and how they can be leveraged to optimize data workflows.
Experience with Flink and Presto is a plus, as is familiarity with data lake architectures and best practices. You are proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and have a knack for troubleshooting and resolving issues efficiently. You enjoy mentoring junior engineers and sharing your knowledge to help the team grow.
