Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to contribute to the Studio in the Cloud platform. You'll work on transforming entertainment content creation using AWS cloud-based solutions and tackle complex technical challenges. This role requires expertise in Java, C++, and Python.
You have a solid background in software development, with experience in building and optimizing production systems. Your expertise in Java and C++ allows you to tackle complex technical challenges, and you are comfortable working with cloud technologies, particularly AWS. You understand the intricacies of distributed systems and have a keen interest in media processing and workflow optimization. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that push the boundaries of entertainment technology.
You possess strong problem-solving skills and can work autonomously on feature development, delivering across the full software lifecycle. Your experience includes working backwards from customer needs, designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software solutions. You are familiar with industry-standard tools and practices, and you are always looking for ways to improve performance and efficiency in your work.
Experience with media transcoding, file transfer acceleration, and rendering job orchestration is a plus. Familiarity with creative tools such as Avid, Adobe, Colorfront, and Blackmagic will help you integrate effectively with creative professionals. You are also open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can enhance your contributions to the team.
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the Studio in the Cloud (SITC) platform, which is revolutionizing the way entertainment content is created. You will work on critical components of the platform, focusing on delivering software features that enhance production and post-production workflows. Your responsibilities will include optimizing media transcoding processes, improving playback performance, and automating quality control tasks.
You will design and implement distributed systems that enable creative professionals to collaborate globally, leveraging AWS cloud solutions. Your work will involve addressing technical challenges related to efficient media processing at scale and ensuring reliable high-bandwidth data transfer. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and creative professionals, to ensure that the solutions you develop meet the needs of users.
As you take ownership of specific features, you will be responsible for the entire development lifecycle, from initial design through to deployment and operations. You will also engage in troubleshooting and debugging to ensure the reliability and performance of the systems you build. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of content creation processes at Amazon MGM Studios.
