Overview

Relativity is seeking a Senior Vehicle Fluids Engineer to design and deliver fluid systems for their Terran R rocket. This role involves collaboration across teams to solve complex engineering challenges. Experience in mechanical engineering is essential.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in designing and delivering fluid systems for aerospace applications. Your expertise allows you to approach complex engineering challenges with creativity and technical rigor, ensuring that every component integrates seamlessly into the overall system. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and achieve project goals. Your problem-solving skills enable you to tackle issues that have not been solved before, contributing to the development of cutting-edge rocket technology.

You understand the importance of maintaining a holistic view of engineering projects, focusing not just on isolated parts but on how they work together to create a functioning rocket. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members from various disciplines ensures that everyone is aligned and working towards a common objective. You are passionate about advancing science and exploration, and you are excited about the opportunity to leave your mark on the future of space travel.

Desirable

Experience with propulsion systems or aerospace fluid dynamics would be a plus, as would familiarity with the design and testing of rocket components. A background in project management or leadership roles would also be beneficial, as you may be called upon to guide junior engineers and contribute to team development.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering the propellant, pressurant, pneumatics, and other fluid systems that are critical to the operation of the Terran R rocket. You will collaborate with other engineers to ensure that all systems are integrated effectively, maintaining a focus on performance, reliability, and safety. Your work will involve both theoretical design and practical implementation, as you oversee the production and testing of fluid systems.

You will participate in the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from initial concept through to flight readiness. This includes conducting simulations, analyzing data, and making adjustments based on test results. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during testing or production, ensuring that the systems meet all specifications and performance criteria.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with teams across the organization, including propulsion, manufacturing, and software. You will help shape decisions and contribute to the overall strategy for the Terran R vehicle, ensuring that your expertise is leveraged to its fullest potential. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the success of the project and the future of space exploration.

What we offer

At Relativity, you will be part of a dynamic and innovative team that is pushing the boundaries of what is possible in aerospace engineering. We offer a competitive salary range of $142,000—$181,500 USD, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will have the chance to work on groundbreaking technology and contribute to projects that have the potential to change the world.

We value diversity and inclusion in our workplace and encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Join us in our mission to revolutionize space travel and make a lasting impact on the future of exploration.
