Overview

Cin7 is seeking a Technical Product Owner to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution. You'll work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. This role requires strong communication skills and a focus on maximizing engineering value.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in product ownership, ideally with experience in technical environments — you understand the nuances of translating business needs into actionable technical tasks. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders sets you apart, ensuring that everyone is aligned on project goals and timelines.

You thrive in fast-paced environments and are adept at managing backlogs — your organizational skills help prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring that the engineering team can focus on delivering high-quality software. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for identifying potential roadblocks before they become issues.

Your experience in software development or engineering gives you a solid understanding of technical feasibility — you can assess the complexity of tasks and provide realistic timelines for delivery. You are comfortable working with development teams and can engage in technical discussions with confidence.

You are passionate about delivering value to customers and partners — you understand that the ultimate goal of product development is to create solutions that meet user needs and drive business success. You are motivated by the impact your work has on the end-user experience.

Desirable

Experience with agile methodologies is a plus, as you will be working in a dynamic environment that values iterative development and continuous improvement. Familiarity with inventory management systems or e-commerce platforms would be beneficial, as it aligns with Cin7's mission to support modern-day product sellers.

What you'll do

As a Technical Product Owner at Cin7, you will be the voice of the customer, ensuring that the engineering team understands the business requirements and can execute them effectively. You will collaborate closely with the Product Manager to define and prioritize the work that needs to be done, ensuring that the development team is focused on delivering high-quality software that meets customer needs.

You will manage the product backlog, ensuring that tasks are prioritized based on business value and technical feasibility. Your role will involve regular communication with stakeholders to gather feedback and adjust priorities as necessary. You will also work with the engineering team to drive the software delivery lifecycle, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to specification.

Your responsibilities will include defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and ensuring that the development team has a clear understanding of what needs to be delivered. You will facilitate sprint planning and review sessions, helping to keep the team aligned and focused on their goals.

You will also be responsible for monitoring the progress of development and providing updates to stakeholders — your ability to communicate effectively will be key in keeping everyone informed and engaged throughout the development process.

What we offer

Cin7 offers a dynamic work environment where you can make a significant impact on the company's growth and success. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are passionate about delivering innovative solutions to customers. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — we value diverse perspectives and are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace.

We provide competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional development and growth within the company. Join us in our mission to become the leading Inventory Management Software brand in the world, and help shape the future of product selling.
