You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to articulate complex findings to various stakeholders, including legal and policy teams. Your ability to mentor and guide junior investigators is a key strength, as you help them develop their skills and confidence in handling high-stakes investigations. You are adaptable and can navigate the evolving landscape of fraud threats, always staying one step ahead of potential risks.

Desirable

Experience in the tech industry, particularly in platforms that require high levels of trust and safety, is a plus. Familiarity with data analysis tools and methodologies will enhance your ability to make data-driven decisions. A background in law enforcement or compliance can also be beneficial in understanding the legal implications of fraud investigations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead a specialized team of fraud investigators, guiding them through complex cases and ensuring thorough investigations are conducted. You will be responsible for setting the standard for investigative excellence within the AirCover Fraud Operations team. Your leadership will directly impact the team's ability to resolve high-risk cases with rigor and fairness, ultimately enhancing the trust and safety of Airbnb's platform.

You will collaborate closely with Data Science, Product, Trust, Safety, Legal, and Community Policy teams to develop proactive fraud strategies that anticipate and prevent future attacks. Your work will involve analyzing trends in fraud activity and implementing systemic defenses to protect the community. You will also be tasked with mentoring your team, helping them build their capabilities and confidence in handling investigations.

Your success will be measured by the reduction of fraud losses, the quality of case resolutions, and the effectiveness of risk prevention strategies. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of fraud operations at Airbnb, ensuring that the platform remains a safe and trusted space for hosts and guests alike.
