Krafton is seeking a UE Client Engineer to develop core gameplay experiences and visual quality for Project Orion. You'll work with C++ and Unreal Engine to implement gameplay systems and procedural animations. This position requires at least 2 years of experience.
You have at least 2 years of experience in game development, particularly with a strong foundation in C++. Your programming skills are robust, allowing you to tackle complex gameplay systems and collaborate effectively with designers and artists. You are familiar with Unreal Engine and have experience in developing rendering features that enhance visual quality. You understand the importance of procedural animation and physics systems in creating immersive gameplay experiences. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with a team to achieve shared goals and deliver high-quality gaming experiences.
Experience with open-world game development is a plus, as is familiarity with robotics or customization systems. You have a keen interest in pushing the boundaries of gameplay mechanics and are eager to learn new technologies that can enhance player engagement.
As a UE Client Engineer at Krafton, you will be responsible for implementing core gameplay features for Project Orion, focusing on survival, crafting, and combat systems. You will collaborate with game designers and artists to ensure that gameplay mechanics are not only functional but also engaging and visually appealing. Your role will involve designing and developing a complex robot customization system, allowing players to disassemble and reassemble robots in a dynamic way. You will also work on procedural animation systems to ensure that robot movements are realistic and responsive.
In addition, you will develop physics-based gameplay mechanics that utilize realistic simulations for robot destruction and environmental interactions. You will collaborate closely with artists to optimize rendering performance and achieve visual goals, ensuring that the game meets high standards of quality. Your work will include designing scalable and maintainable client-side architecture, leveraging Unreal Engine's Blueprint system to extend engine functionality. You will also be involved in performance optimization and debugging to ensure a smooth gaming experience for players.
