Overview

Waymo is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to develop perception systems for autonomous vehicles. You'll work with Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch to analyze real-world data and optimize models. This role requires expertise in machine learning and computer vision.

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in machine learning and a strong background in developing perception systems for autonomous vehicles. Your expertise in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch allows you to build and optimize complex models that learn from large-scale real-world data. You understand the intricacies of spatial-temporal representation and can effectively analyze real-world behavior to enhance system performance.

You are familiar with the challenges of integrating machine learning models into production environments, ensuring they operate efficiently on both onboard and offboard hardware. Your collaborative spirit enables you to work closely with cross-functional teams, including research and engineering, to address real-world problems and implement innovative solutions.

You are passionate about leveraging data to drive insights and improve system capabilities. Your experience with computer vision techniques equips you to handle the complexities of perception in autonomous driving. You thrive in a research-oriented environment and are eager to contribute to advancements in the field.

Desirable

Experience with large-scale data processing and optimization techniques is a plus. Familiarity with autonomous driving technologies and their applications will set you apart. What you'll do

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Waymo, you will lead the development of perception systems that enable our autonomous vehicles to understand and interact with their environment. You will work with vast amounts of driving data collected from diverse sensors, developing methods for efficient learning and model training at scale. Your role will involve analyzing real-world behavior and optimizing models to ensure they perform reliably in various conditions.

You will collaborate with downstream teams to integrate your models into the Waymo Driver, ensuring seamless operation and performance. Your research efforts will focus on addressing real-world challenges, contributing to the continuous improvement of our autonomous driving technology. What we offer

Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $204,000—$259,000 USD, along with participation in our discretionary annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
