Point72 is seeking an Associate General Counsel to provide senior-level legal support for Private Credit transactions. You'll work on various deal types and collaborate with investment professionals. This role requires a J.D. and 5-8 years of relevant experience.
You hold a J.D. degree from an accredited law school and are a member of at least one state bar. With 5 to 8 years of experience as an associate or counsel in a private credit or structured finance group of a major U.S. law firm, or in the legal department of an investment adviser, you have developed excellent negotiation and drafting skills. You are capable of multitasking and managing complex legal matters effectively. Your experience has equipped you with the ability to cultivate and manage relationships with business partners across the company, ensuring that legal advice aligns with business objectives.
Experience in corporate lending, real estate lending, asset-based finance, and equity-style investments is a plus. Familiarity with joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and trade finance will enhance your ability to contribute to the team. You are adept at coordinating with various departments, including compliance, finance, tax, operations, and treasury, to facilitate transaction management and execution.
In this role, you will provide senior-level legal support for a wide range of Private Credit related transactions and deal flow. This includes corporate lending, real estate lending, asset-based finance, and structured investments. You will assist in managing outside counsel and ensure that all legal services delivered promote the firm’s performance with integrity. Your responsibilities will involve coordinating with the firm’s Private Credit investment professionals and other investment services personnel to manage and execute deal flow transactions effectively. You will cultivate relationships with business partners across the company, ensuring that legal advice is practical and aligned with business needs.
