Staff Software Engineer, GKE Networking

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development, particularly with data structures and algorithms in C++, Go, or Java. Your background includes 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, as well as 3 years of experience in software design and architecture. You have a strong foundation in building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, and possess 5 years of experience in Network Infrastructure. Your expertise extends to Kubernetes, which is essential for this role.

In addition to your technical skills, you have a Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. You have spent at least 3 years in a technical leadership role, guiding project teams and setting technical direction. Your experience working in complex, matrixed organizations has equipped you to handle cross-functional and cross-business projects effectively.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer at Google, you will lead the design and development of network virtualization solutions for container workloads running on Kubernetes platforms. Your role will involve implementing new networking features for GKE platforms and assisting external GKE customers who encounter issues in production clusters. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the solutions you develop meet the high standards expected at Google.
