Sr. Software Engineer, Backend

Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have navigated complex distributed systems issues. Your expertise in Java and Python is deep — you've shipped high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests and have strong opinions on service architecture and testing strategies. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product managers and designers to create impactful features. You are comfortable with leading initiatives from inception through to technical design, implementation, and release. You understand the importance of empowering both developers and users, and you enjoy finding creative solutions to challenging problems. You are adaptable and open to embracing new technologies and methodologies as they arise.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure would be a plus, as well as familiarity with microservices architecture. A background in monetization strategies or core engineering principles can also enhance your fit for this role.

You will contribute to and lead each step of the product development process, ensuring that the backend systems are robust and scalable. Your role will involve designing and implementing APIs that serve millions of users, optimizing performance, and ensuring reliability. You will also participate in code reviews, providing feedback to peers and mentoring junior engineers.
