Box is hiring a Software Engineer (Scala) for their Data Platform team to design and maintain backend services and APIs. You'll work with Scala and collaborate in a Scrum environment in Warsaw.
You have a solid background in backend engineering, with experience in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs. Your expertise in Scala allows you to contribute effectively to the Data Platform team, ensuring high-quality code and system performance. You are familiar with automated testing practices and understand the importance of code reviews in maintaining code quality and best practices. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.
You are comfortable monitoring and troubleshooting backend performance issues, demonstrating your ability to resolve stability challenges effectively. Your experience in an Agile/Scrum environment has equipped you with the skills to adapt quickly and contribute to team goals. You value diversity and inclusion in the workplace and are committed to fostering a positive team culture.
Experience with cloud platforms or enterprise-level applications would be a plus, as would familiarity with CI/CD practices. You might also have knowledge of additional programming languages or frameworks that complement your Scala expertise, enhancing your versatility as a developer.
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that are crucial for Box's Data Platform. You will participate in code reviews to ensure that the codebase remains clean, maintainable, and adheres to best practices. Writing and maintaining automated tests will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you work to ensure system stability and reliability.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a Scrum environment, contributing to the overall success of projects by sharing your insights and expertise. Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving backend performance or stability issues will be part of your daily tasks, ensuring that the services you build are robust and efficient.
Additionally, you will participate in an on-call rotation, being available to address any urgent issues that may arise. Your contributions will directly impact how Box empowers organizations to manage their content effectively, driving innovation and efficiency in workflows.
