Overview

Amazon is seeking a Senior Technical Animator to develop advanced robotics systems. You'll work on creating and validating next-generation hardware solutions using skills in MoCap, VR, and animation. This role requires expertise in technical animation and industrial design.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in technical animation and industrial design, with experience leading product design efforts from concept to execution. Your expertise includes MoCap data cleanup and processing, skeleton retargeting, and FBX export pipelines, ensuring high-quality animation outputs. You are skilled in VR performance optimization and real-time skeleton validation, allowing for seamless integration of animations into robotic systems. You understand the complexities of designing and animating mechanical systems, ensuring they adhere to accurate physics and real-world constraints. Collaboration is key for you; you thrive in cross-functional teams, working closely with engineers, researchers, and product managers to bring innovative solutions to life. You are passionate about shaping the future of robotics through the innovative application of deep learning and large language models.

Desirable

Experience with advanced robotics systems and a strong understanding of human-robot interaction will set you apart. Familiarity with creating interactive simulations to test and validate designs is a plus, as is a background in developing adaptable automation solutions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead product design efforts, creating both physical and virtual prototypes that push the boundaries of what's possible in robotics. You will be responsible for cleaning and processing MoCap data, ensuring that animations are accurate and effective for robotic applications.
