Squarepoint Capital is hiring an Indirect Tax Analyst to support the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance across jurisdictions. You'll work with systems for indirect tax reporting and collaborate with IT and advisors. This role requires at least 3 years of relevant tax experience.
You have at least 3 years of relevant tax experience within a Professional Services firm and have worked in an in-house tax team. Your knowledge of indirect taxes such as VAT, GST, and sales tax is strong, and you are detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement. You possess a relevant recognized qualification such as ACA or CTA, and you have strong technical proficiency with MS Excel, which you use to perform GL reconciliation and resolve discrepancies. Your ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is well-developed, making you a reliable team member.
In this role, you will support the end-to-end preparation of necessary returns prepared by third-party providers to ensure compliance with reporting and collection obligations in all jurisdictions. You will work closely with the Corporate IT Applications Team to improve current systems used for indirect tax reporting, aiming to reduce the time spent on return preparation and strengthen controls. You will also assist with the provision of advisory services to front office colleagues trading commodities and other assets, helping them understand the commercial impact and compliance requirements of all taxes in the supply chain across multiple jurisdictions. Your responsibilities will include ensuring contracts adequately deal with these taxes to minimize risk to the firm and collaborating with local advisors to provide tax advice on miscellaneous matters.
