Who you are
You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, eager to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical technology infrastructure. Your hands-on experience with data center operations equips you to ensure seamless operations that power global digital experiences. You understand the importance of uptime and are committed to maintaining an extraordinary 99.999% uptime for critical systems. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists to solve complex challenges. Your troubleshooting skills are top-notch, allowing you to quickly identify and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical equipment. You are detail-oriented and take pride in your ability to keep technology running smoothly.
Desirable
Experience with diesel generators and related fuel systems is a plus, as is familiarity with three-phase electrical systems such as switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs. Knowledge of cooling systems, including centrifugal chillers and air handlers, will enhance your ability to contribute to the team. You are adaptable and willing to learn new technologies and systems as needed.
What you'll do
As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. Your responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting various systems, including stand-by diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and cooling equipment. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure that all systems are functioning optimally and that any issues are addressed promptly. Your expertise will directly contribute to the reliability of our data centers, supporting AWS's global infrastructure. You will be involved in routine maintenance tasks, as well as emergency response efforts when issues arise. Your role is critical in ensuring that our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
