Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Sourcing Manager for the Falcon & Dragon program to develop sourcing strategies and manage supplier relationships. This role requires expertise in supply chain management and strategic sourcing.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in supply chain management and strategic sourcing, with experience in developing and implementing sourcing strategies that align with business objectives. You excel at building relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring that sourcing decisions optimize value and reduce risk. Your analytical skills allow you to assess market trends and supplier capabilities effectively, enabling you to make informed decisions that drive cost savings and efficiency.

You are detail-oriented and possess excellent negotiation skills, which you leverage to establish favorable payment terms and cash targets. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams ensures that you can advocate for sourcing initiatives that support the overall goals of the organization. You are proactive in identifying potential risks in the supply chain and are committed to developing solutions that mitigate these risks.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industries is a plus, as is familiarity with the unique challenges of sourcing components for complex engineering projects. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on achieving strategic objectives.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing sourcing strategies for assigned categories within the Falcon & Dragon program. You will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to understand their needs and develop sourcing models that meet those requirements. Your focus will be on reducing risk and ensuring that the supply chain operates smoothly to support production schedules.

You will manage relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms that align with SpaceX's goals for cost reduction and efficiency. Your role will involve continuous monitoring of supplier performance and market conditions to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in sourcing practices.

You will also play a critical role in developing and maintaining internal stakeholder relationships, ensuring that all sourcing activities are aligned with the broader objectives of the organization. Your insights will help shape the strategic direction of the sourcing team and contribute to the overall success of the Falcon & Dragon program.
