Job Description

Are you interested in driving new products and programs to help Amazon become the industry leader in sustainable transportation? Are you interested in the science of sustainability and passionate about innovating on behalf of our customers on this global problem? We’re looking for an experienced, driven, analytical, and creative Senior Product Manager to drive and execute on Amazon Air’s carbon reduction goals.

In this role you will be responsible for developing and scaling sustainable transportation solutions for Amazon Air and partnering with sustainability experts across all of Amazon, all while ensuring fueling operational services meet high performance standards.
As part of the AIR Fuel team, Global Air Sustainability (GAS) drives sustainability throughout the global air network to delight customers and reduce Amazon Air's emissions in line with the Climate Pledge zero-emission glide path. GAS is looking for a driven, analytical, and creative leader to serve in the sustainability program management role within Amazon Air. This position requires the ability to think big and execute, creating solutions that scale across Amazon’s logistics network. To be successful, you will need excellent communication and influencing skills to drive consensus across multiple stakeholders. We interface with Gateway Operations,3P Carriers, Network Planning, Business Development, Finance, WW Sustainability, ATS Sustainability, Fleet and Services, as well as Science & Technology (AST) teams to identify solutions which reduce the carbon intensity of Amazon shipments by AIR, saving money and benefitting the environment.
In addition, this opportunity requires excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, technical environment. Ability to work independently and deal with an ambiguous environment is a must have. Ownership of work is extremely important, and candidates should have a proven record of driving projects and strategic initiatives to their completion. The ideal candidate is motivated, agile, with strong time management and project management skills. The candidate will also have a passion for helping us to identify and promote sustainability orientation and opportunities at Amazon.

Key job responsibilities
- Identify initiatives to achieve Carbon Reduction and Shipment Zero goals in partnership with AIR functional teams and business partners.
- Identify and quantify scalable and long-term cost beneficial solutions.
- Align with business development on WW investment strategy and portfolio.
- Build business cases and plans for investment on new initiatives in partnership with ATS business teams.
- Partner with vendors and logistics providers to improve sustainability by transitioning to low carbon fuels while maintaining performance and competitive pricing
- 20% travel required

About the team
Global Air Sustainability (GAS), which is part of the Global Fuel team, drives sustainability throughout the global air network while supporting the delivery of reliable fueling for all of AIR's aircraft. In this role you will be responsible for developing and scaling sustainable transportation solutions for Amazon AIR and partnering with sustainability experts across all of Amazon to reduce emissions in line with Climate Pledge net-zero emission glide path of 2040. - 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- • Prior experience in sustainability, transportation, logistics, and/or supply chain management
- • Experience in managing large projects across multiple organizations and partnering with multiple disciplines
- • Familiarity with environmental management systems and sustainability reporting (e.g., GRI, CDP)
- • Strong written and verbal communications and interpersonal/team skills
- • Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses
- • Track record of taking ownership and driving results
- • Detail oriented with strong prioritization skills
- • Ability to work independently and excellent problem solving skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
