DoorDash is hiring a Cloud Engineer to design and maintain foundational cloud systems for their logistics engine. You'll work with AWS and GCP, focusing on secure and scalable infrastructure. This role requires experience in cloud networking and automation tools.
You have a strong background in cloud engineering, with experience in designing and operating cloud infrastructure systems that are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient. You are familiar with AWS and GCP, and you understand the importance of creating environments that are easy to use for product and platform teams. You have a solid grasp of networking concepts and can implement cloud networking solutions at scale, including Transit Gateway and PrivateLink.
You are proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code tools, particularly Terraform, and you have experience automating infrastructure management. You understand the significance of proactive monitoring and alerting for cloud health and network reachability, and you are committed to improving reliability and visibility in cloud environments. You enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide reusable cloud primitives that enhance self-service infrastructure.
Experience with cloud governance and FinOps initiatives is a plus. You are eager to stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and best practices, and you are open to learning and adapting to new tools and methodologies as needed.
As a Cloud Engineer at DoorDash, you will be a key member of the Cloud Infrastructure Team, responsible for designing, building, and operating the foundational cloud systems that support the company's logistics engine. You will work closely with Compute, Traffic, and Platform teams to evolve the multi-cloud strategy and modernize governance and automation processes. Your role will involve building and evolving DoorDash's foundational cloud infrastructure in AWS and GCP, ensuring that it meets the needs of various teams across the organization.
You will design and implement cloud networking solutions at scale, utilizing tools like Transit Gateway and PrivateLink to enhance connectivity and security. Automating infrastructure management through Terraform and other Infrastructure-as-Code tools will be a significant part of your responsibilities, allowing you to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
In addition, you will develop proactive monitoring and alerting systems to ensure cloud health and network reachability, contributing to the overall reliability of the infrastructure. You will partner with platform teams to provide reusable cloud primitives, enabling teams to deliver faster and with greater confidence. Your contributions will play a vital role in shaping the cloud infrastructure that powers DoorDash's three-sided marketplace.
