Job Description

**About the Role** Payment Compliance Engineering systems sit on the critical path for whether an entity can go online and get paid. This is driven by policy/process evaluations across regulatory regions and Line of Businesses which is achieved through policy evaluations, decisioning, workflow orchestration, external vendor integrations, and case adjudication platforms that span across earners and spenders. **\-\-\-\- What You Will Do ----** 1. Lead the design and architecture of a high-performance payment compliance infrastructure, prioritizing scalability, reliability, accuracy and efficiency. 2. Research and lead projects which utilise Machine Learning and AI to enable faster document processing & transcription, automated case adjudications, automated matching, automate support etc. 3. Collaborate with several cross-functional teams to define requirements and translate them into technical specifications. 4. Develop and implement state-of-the-art process workflow orchestrations, decisioning, reconciliation algorithms, enhancing payment compliance infrastructure offerings 5. Devise and implement solutions that seamlessly scale with the growing needs of our user base. 6. Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge exchange and continuous improvement **\-\-\-\- What You Will Need ----** 1. BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. 2. Highly proficient in one of the following programming languages: Java, Go, C/C++. Good scripting skills and ability to pick up new ones. 3. Systematic problem solving approach and knowledge of algorithms, data structures and complexity analysis. 4. Experience building observability, metrics system \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. Experience with highly available/fault tolerant, large scale systems which are in critical path 2. 10+ years of experience building and managing distributed systems. Sound understanding of distributed system fundamentals 3. Exposure to Machine Learning & AI projects Uber's mission is to reimagine the way the world moves for the better.
