Senior Staff Software Engineer (Foundation)

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in building scalable and performant systems. Your background includes working on platform-level components that are utilized by multiple engineering teams, showcasing your ability to collaborate effectively across functions. You enjoy tackling low-level system problems and have a strong understanding of scaling challenges and performance bottlenecks. Your product mindset allows you to align technical design with business outcomes, ensuring that the solutions you create meet user needs and drive value.

You are well-versed in cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and have experience with services such as S3, DynamoDB, and Kinesis. Your technical expertise enables you to keep track of newer services and storage tiers, leveraging the continuous evolution of AWS offerings to enhance system capabilities. You thrive in environments that require a deep understanding of file system metadata, versioning, and eventual consistency, and you are passionate about building robust data protection solutions.

Desirable

Experience with distributed systems and cloud file systems is a plus, as is familiarity with data security solutions. What you'll do

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Druva, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a highly performant and scalable cloud file system on the Druva cloud in AWS. You will work closely with the Foundation team to build a petabyte-scale, distributed, services-oriented cloud file system that enhances data security for our customers. Your role will involve utilizing various AWS services to create a backup storage solution that supports all Druva products.

You will collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure that the core file storage engine integrates seamlessly with allied components such as the indexing engine and key-value store. Your work will contribute to scalable search, analytics, and compliance services, making a significant impact on how our customers secure and recover their data.

You will also be responsible for monitoring and optimizing system performance, addressing any bottlenecks that arise, and ensuring that the system remains reliable and efficient. Your expertise will guide the team in adopting best practices for cloud architecture and data governance, ultimately enhancing the overall security posture of our solutions.
