Job Description

Our mission is to provide manufacturers and other industrial sectors with insights into the health of machines, processes, and operations to transform how people work and what they can create. A leader in Machine Health and Process Health solutions, Augury uses purpose-built AI technology, trained by industry experts and the world’s largest data library, to help companies realize the full potential of their production. Together with our customers, we are pioneering Production Health by removing friction created by competing business goals so companies can improve business outcomes, empower their workforce, and achieve sustainable production- all at the same time.

You are a multidisciplinary IoT Hardware Validation & Automation Engineer who will own and operate our hardware validation lab and build the automation infrastructure that powers end-to-end testing across all our IoT platforms. You will run hands-on validation, design automated test workflows, maintain lab systems, and collaborate across Hardware, Embedded Firmware, Linux, Mechanical, and Systems Engineering teams. This is a critical role ensuring reliability, consistency, and performance across all of Augury’s IoT devices.

A Day In Your Life

  • Maintain lab infrastructure: test benches, measurement equipment, calibration workflows, and validation tools.
  • Operate and maintain specialized lab assets such as SpectraQuest rigs, magnetic Helmholtz coils, power analyzers, RF chambers, and more.
  • Perform hands-on electrical and system-level testing using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, magnetic coils, accelerometers, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Execute regression, stress, performance, and multi-revision validation for hardware platforms.

Automation Development

  • Develop and maintain automated end-to-end test scripts in Python and Robot Framework.
  • Build and operate lab automation pipelines using Python, Jenkins, Docker, Git, and internal APIs.
  • Maintain automation infrastructure across APIs, SSH interfaces, databases, and CI/CD flows.
  • Validate full hardware/firmware integration including gateways, sensors, connectivity, and field-like scenarios.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with hardware, firmware, Linux, and system engineers to design and execute validation workflows.
  • Create validation procedures, lab documentation, and equipment operating instructions.
  • Support root-cause investigations and contribute to continuous reliability and product robustness improvements.

What You Bring

  • 1–3 years of experience in hardware, IoT, embedded systems, or advanced academic lab environments.
  • BSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong Python skills (OOP), scripting, and automation development experience.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ for user-space development; kernel familiarity is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic lab equipment and debugging physical hardware.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and wireless communication concepts.
  • Comfort with Linux/Unix environments, command-line tools, and SSH.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Robot Framework or similar test automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of IoT protocols such as BLE, MQTT, and SSH.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (MongoDB, GCP, Azure).
  • Prior work with hardware products in regulated industries (medical, military).
  • Previous experience running physical hardware validation labs

Technologies You’ll Work With

Python, Robot Framework, Jenkins, Docker, SSH, Git, Postman, MongoDB, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, RF chambers, Helmholtz coils, vibration/spectra analyzers, power analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
