Overview

SpaceX is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to develop high-reliability electronics for satellites and spacecraft. You'll work on system design, schematic capture, and hardware troubleshooting, utilizing skills in Altium Designer and PCB layout. This role is based in Redmond, WA.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in electrical engineering with experience in designing high-reliability electronics for complex systems. You are proficient in tools like Altium Designer and Eagle, and have hands-on experience with PCB layout and hardware troubleshooting. Your understanding of RF devices and power electronics allows you to tackle challenges in high-speed digital communications and network system integration. You thrive in interdisciplinary environments, collaborating effectively with mechanical and software engineering peers to drive successful business outcomes. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for developing innovative solutions that push the boundaries of technology.

Desirable

Experience with embedded Linux and familiarity with satellite communication systems would be a plus. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies as they emerge.

What you'll do

As an Electrical Design Engineer at SpaceX, you will take ownership of the entire life-cycle of hardware that enables global cellular connectivity from space. Your responsibilities will include system design, schematic capture, and overseeing PCB layout. You will engage in prototyping, hardware bring-up, and debugging, ensuring that all designs meet the rigorous standards required for space applications. You will also be involved in driving requirements for the underlying silicon and managing the complete product production and testing processes. Your role will require you to rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for satellites and spacecraft, ensuring that they perform optimally in on-orbit conditions. You will collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines to integrate various subsystems and contribute to the overall success of the Direct to Cell network.
