Temporal Technologies is hiring a Staff Engineer for their Cloud Capacity team to lead initiatives that optimize infrastructure efficiency and resource management. You'll work with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes to ensure scalability and reliability. This position requires significant experience in software engineering and cloud technologies.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in cloud infrastructure and capacity management — you've successfully led projects that optimize resource utilization and improve system reliability. Your expertise in AWS and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes allows you to design scalable solutions that meet customer demands.
You are proficient in programming languages such as Python and have a strong understanding of infrastructure as code principles — you can automate processes and enhance operational efficiency. Your collaborative spirit shines through as you work closely with cross-functional teams to drive technical vision and roadmap for cloud capacity systems.
You are genuinely curious about improving developer experiences and have a passion for building open-source software — you thrive in environments that challenge standard thinking and encourage innovative solutions. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders makes you an effective leader in your field.
Experience with resource forecasting and automated capacity planning is a plus — you understand the intricacies of managing cloud resources and can implement strategies that align with business goals. Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance metrics will help you drive improvements in system efficiency.
In this role, you will drive the technical vision and roadmap for Temporal’s Cloud Capacity systems — you will partner with engineering and product leadership to design and implement infrastructure that tracks resource utilization and forecasts consumption. Your leadership will be crucial in developing a resource manager that optimizes infrastructure efficiency based on real-time data.
You will lead high-impact initiatives that directly influence infrastructure efficiency, customer experience, and platform cost strategy — your work will ensure that Temporal Cloud remains scalable and reliable for our customers’ most important workloads. You will also mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
Temporal Technologies provides a supportive and inclusive work environment where diversity is celebrated — we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. You will have the opportunity to work remotely from the United States or Canada, allowing for a flexible work-life balance. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with the chance to be part of a mission-driven team that is shaping the future of developer tools.
