You have experience in the logistics field and ideally have a background in the courier industry. Your people management skills are strong, and you have experience handling field teams effectively. You thrive in live operations where quick decision-making is essential, and you have a knack for process improvement, particularly with methodologies like Kaizen. You are driven and focused on achieving the best results for customers, understanding the importance of operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with performance appraisals and mentoring supervisors is a plus. Familiarity with data analysis to identify performance bottlenecks will help you excel in this role. Knowledge of additional process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma would be beneficial, enhancing your ability to implement effective operational strategies.
As an Area Manager at Amazon, you will define the transportation process from fulfillment centers to delivery stations, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for managing the sortation team, ensuring they have the bandwidth to handle peak delivery times effectively. Conducting performance appraisals of station supervisors will be a key part of your role, as you mentor them to improve their operational handling.
