Shift4 is seeking a Senior Risk Associate to manage high-risk portfolio assessments. You'll analyze merchant applications for regulatory and financial risks while collaborating across departments. This role requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of card scheme rules.
You have a strong background in risk management, with at least 5 years of experience assessing financial and regulatory risks in a fast-paced environment. Your analytical skills are top-notch, allowing you to evaluate complex merchant applications effectively. You possess a clear understanding of card scheme rules and can apply them during risk assessments. Your attention to detail ensures that you identify potential risks before they become issues, and you are comfortable preparing reports for stakeholders to communicate your findings.
You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with underwriting officers and various departments to mitigate risks and ensure compliance. Your ability to analyze financial statements and assess a merchant's financial position is critical to your success in this role. You are adaptable and can navigate the complexities of high-brand risk applications, always striving for process improvements.
Experience in the payments industry or with high-risk portfolios is a plus. Familiarity with compliance regulations in the UK and EU will enhance your ability to perform in this role. You are proactive in raising suspicious activity reports and have a knack for liaising with merchants during investigations.
In this role, you will assess new and existing merchant applications to identify regulatory, reputational, and financial risks. You will conduct ongoing reviews of merchant accounts to ensure that processing aligns with expectations. Your responsibilities will include applying card scheme rules during risk assessments and collaborating with underwriting officers to gain a comprehensive view of merchant applications. You will also be responsible for preparing detailed reports for stakeholders, highlighting any identified risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
You will regularly liaise with various departments to understand the risks posed by new and existing merchants, ensuring that all compliance measures are met. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you assess the financial position of merchants through thorough financial statement analysis. Setting merchant collateral to mitigate financial risk will also be part of your duties, as will raising suspicious activity reports with both UK and EU MLROs.
